Re: [clug] Upgrading question

Hi Dave

The upgrade to Ubuntu Jaunty this time around appears pretty clean.  I 
have now done 3 computers with the only problems evident were my Acer 
Notebook wouldn't play well with compiz and my AMD 64 Desktop didn't 
carry over Virtualbox.  I discovered the next day however the Virtualbox 
problem was associated with the repository not being available for some 
reason and it is now functioning Ok.

In my experience, i'ts a little difficult to predict what impact an 
upgrade is going to have on a particular setup but providing you have a 
backup of all the important stuff it is generally a fairly painless 
excercise.  Issues with older ATI graphics and with some Intel graphics 
stuff have already been posted on this list and the ubuntu forum are now 
filling with problems and solutions being discovered as people migrate.
