It's gotten better in newer versions as Microsoft realized it was a major issue. But it's safe to say that MS Office is a x86/Win32 _only_ codebase, and you will NOT see a Win64 version in a long, long-time -- basically until their XML formats are truly standardized. Their 2003 submissions are not being used for Office 12.
