Ubuntu (Dapper) + Palm Tungsten E2

Can't seem to get my Palm Tungsten E2 to be recognized/sync with Ubuntu
jpilot/evolution.  I don't suppose there's a Palm Desktop for Gnome. 
I've tried Google - no luck;  any advice?
