I don't know how many of you have heard of I Hack Charities but it's a volunteer group. If you have any interest just sign up and reply. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [HFC Announce] Call For Volunteers: PHP/HTML/CSS for music group Date: Mon, 23 Jun 2008 15:44:28 -0400 From: Johnny Long <ihackstuff@...> Reply-To: i-hack-charities-volunteers@... To: Volunteers I <i-hack-charities-volunteers@...> Hello everyone! We're working on a new website for a group of Ugandan musicians that are trying to make their way in the world. These musicians worked for many year raising funds through concerts for organizations like AOET (www.aoet.org ) and now they are branching out to try to land a record deal so that they can take their skills (and their charitable efforts) to the next level. So they've chosen a flash site based on a template, and one of our volunteers (Peter) has built an entire backend for the flash site so that our client can update the content. The flash gets all content from a series of requests to a PHP app, making the site easy to update. The problem, of course, is that we don't have an HTML site. So what we're looking for is someone that can take the template (http://hacker2.meadgroup.com/staging/tribe/template ) and create a similar-looking HTML (PHP) version which pulls it's content from the same PHP app source. The final product does not need to (and can never really) look as nice as the flash version, but the color schemes, fonts, etc should be as similar as possible. We understand that the PHP/HTML and the CSS are often very different skills, so we'll gladly take a PHP/HTML person AND a CSS person. Thanks in advance everyone!
