So what are these industry standard rates?

As per my understanding, for software development jobs the heirarchy
is something like:

- PHP, ASP, VB etc. pay low. Fact.
- C#, Java etc.
- C++/STL/MFC (sound knowledge) next. PL/SQL and Java buzzwords like
EJB or whatever.
- A degree/masters in CS with niche skills (embedded, graphics/video,
mobile, ...)
