I never implied you can't make money with foss. As the market says, there is place for both. There are businesses which are doing both at a time - and surviving. That doesn't make them evil. They are applicable in their respective contexts, and they will both continue to be relevant for quite some time to come. I was just lamenting on the blanket statements like 'proprietary is evil' which I think (and many seem to agree) is misleading, and leads to the 'us/them' mindset which is harmful, frankly pointless and it's not how the real world works. There are smart people on both camps, and most people don't even care. We get much more work done have more fun if we can just learn to co-operate and use what makes most sense in that context.
