Cloud computing is an umbrella term used to denote computational resources
on the cloud. The cloud generally means a network and the network that more
and more people are referring to now with regards to cloud computing is the
Internet.

The idea is to have your real applications on servers on remote locations
accessible via the Internet while you just need a way to access that
application. Google Apps, Windows Live and Amazon AWS(which is based on Xen)
come to mind.
