Re: Fingerprint device thingy
AuthenTec AES2501 Fingerprint Sensor in a Compaq 6710b laptop.
I did try searching and I couldn't find any solution to this problem, which seems to occur quite a bit. I was hoping someone actually had one set up. I did see that thread that SeanCarl identified, but nothing useful there.

_______________________________________________I got me a new laptop at work, and it's got a fingerprint device for logging on and things like that. I installed pam_fprint and it almost works. Well actually it does work, but only the first time. Subsequent logins, sudo's and gksudo's fail. On the command line I get the following error:
aes2501:error [dev_init] could not claim interface 0
fp:error [fp_dev_open] device initialisation failed, driver=aes2501
Any ideas? If you have a fingerthing on your laptop, did you use the fprint interface?
