XML::Parser... configure: error: XML::Parser perl module is required for intltool

This error is cropping up tonight.
When I ran fink auto-update, libgsf-1.14.15 failed to compile and terminated
fink.
I tried to build other gnome stuff like gnumeric to see what kind of errors
I would get. Here glade3-3.6.6 also failed. (the same error)

>From what little I understand, this error is usually indicative of a
different problem which can only be discerned by code-tinkering.

I welcome advice on how to get fink self-update functional.
Not a high priority just yet. But I didn't want to keep the problem to
myself.

I run the unstable with rsync. I recently installed x-code 3.13 so I don't
know which x11 is associated with that or if it affects this situation.
