bbmc linking error after upgrade

Hi,

I have a problem compiling bbmc tool for mc1322x cpu. 
It used to work fine but after an upgrade of ubuntu, 
the linking of libftdi doesn't work anymore.
I have the shared libraries in place and I tried setting 
up the library path manually but it still doesn't work.
Is there anything I am missing? I'd appreciate any help as
 it has taken a lot of my time so far. The libftdi version is
