Announcement - BeGeistert 017 - Gusto Dell'Italia

BeGeistert 017 - Gusto Dell'Italia

BeGeistert 017 is a truly international event. For the first time
ever it will be held outside Germany. This is not only because we are
still unable to return to our spiritual home in Düsseldorf but also
to return the visit of so many Italian visitors who have been to
BeGeistert in the past. We also hope that this also makes it easier
for others who have so far not been able to come to BeGeistert.

Thanks to the hard work of the Italian BUG BeGeistert will be held in
a hotel in central Milan. This means that visitors will also have the
chance to see some of this wonderful city as well as taking part in
the usual discussions at BeGeistert. It is hoped that people will
bring their partners for some sightseeing as part of what might be a
once in a lifetime opportunity.

BeGeistert will cost Euro 90 to attend. This a fixed price covering
accomodation in a shared room on Friday and Saturday night and
breakfast. Accomodation is mandatory. An additional night (Sunday)
for Euro 45 per person per night for a shared room. A single room
will cost double.

What will there be to do and see?

BeGeistert 017 will give users a chance to see some of th progress
made both on Haiku and hopefully also Zeta. It has been an
interesting year for both projects with Haiku going from strength to
strength (as we have been able to see at previous BeGeisterts) and
Zeta recovering from the demise of Yellowtab. The emphasis this time
will be on challenges for developers and users.

Getting to Milan is easy by plane or train. The city has two main
airports (Malpensa and Linate) and another one Orio al Serio. The
members of IT-BUG will try and arrange transport to and from the
airports.

See you there!
