Java 6u18 plugin not appearing in Firefox 3.6 Solaris 10 (SPARC)

On Solaris 10 SPARC (Sun Fire v240) with CDE, installed SFWfirefox
package and all dependencies. Works fine. Installed Adobe Acrobat Reader
plugin and that works fine. Installed the Java 6u18 plug in and it
doesn't show up under Plugins. I attempted to link the
libjavaplugin_oji.so file and also copy it in place, either way it still
doesn't show up. We also attempted creating a new user and Firefox and
Adobe plugin work fine, but Java plugin doesn't even show up.  Anyone
else had these kind of issue getting the Java plugin to even show up?
perms are a+rx and root:root.
