Oracle and 'x86 platform?

I read John Fowler's presentation on the Sun/Oracle merger
(http://www.oracle.com/ocom/groups/public/ <at> ocom/documents/webcontent/044518.pdf)
and one thing which struck me is how little mention there is of x86
hardware. There is only a single bullet item on page 12 which
mentions x86 hardware clusters.

Obviously x86 type hardware (and solarisx86) is not going away, but if
John Fowler's presentation is to be believed, there will be an
increased focus on SPARC-based platforms as a (the?) vehicle to
deliver Oracle applications. The whole system approach ("IBM" style)
will allow delivering more total performance and value to the Oracle
business customer.

Does anyone here have thoughts about how the acquisition might impact
x86 Solaris as we have become accustomed to it?
