Re: [Sansevierias] Will the real Golden Hahnii stand up?

DIV { MARGIN: 0px }

Mike I just looked in a book from Thailand  "TRUBUS"  the have some good pictures of S. hahnii.  I just described a plant that I have that seems to be the opposite of "Hahnii favorite'  any suggestions what it might be. The names are in English and there is an Index in the back. I still have not found a picture that looks like my plant, but it is very young and perhaps it will go through more changes.  It started out with green leaves, so this is going to be interesting.  Now you understand why I will not name any plants,  I just don't know enough.  Norma

I certainly believe that they are both Hahniis, but not both Gold Hahniis.  There are a lot of Hahniis out there.  To me they are using the term Golden Hahnii to blanket any Hahnii with variegation.  There are Gold Hahnii, Green Gold Hahnii, Hahnii silver, Hahnii favorite.......etc. etc.  I believe that a book could be made on the Hahniis themselves.  Hmmm..... now I wish such a book existed!

So do we know what the cream one really is./  I have both of these, My H. 'Golden One ' I have labeled as such, the 'Cream' I call it white' I don't have a label on it at all.  I'll see if I can find it listed any place in any of my books, Mentha I am sure glad that you asked.  I did a small research, it it appears that it might be  S. tri. 'Hahnii Favorite'  it is shown in Juan first book page 77, I'm not saying that I am right, I am only suggesting that it might be.  Nope that's not it mine has reverse coloring then what Juan shows in his book.  Green edges with white in the middle, now I will see if I can find it in the Thai books.

Your new plants are lovely, and grown well,  I hope mine do better in their new location.  I am giving them more shade.  Norma

I bought both of these plants yesterday at our C&SS show & sale. They are both labeled golden hahnii, one has gold variegation the other is more of a cream. My question is which is the real one or are they variable in their coloring?
