RE: Ice Racing
I don’t know about the older Saabs, but I just came in from pushing my 2000 9-3 into he garage through a full 2” of snow. Thank God for All Weather tires. At least the Saab is safe until the snow clears and I’m back to my glass of red wine…..
Thank You,
John Bergeron the Pondman

Subject: Re: [vSAAB] Ice Racing
There was a time
when traction enhancements in tires were not allowed by
the rules (and some people tried embedding walnut shells in retreads for
traction) and SAABs were put in a class of their own because they
outclassed every other car out there. I've always said that the 96 was
the best snow car ever designed ... though I've never driven a 92 or 93
in snow.
Typical driving technique for a SAAB was to hang the tail out against
the snow bank and keep your foot in the gas.
