Re: Oneonta Picnic and Maine

Mike/Kevin,

Thanks for the offers!  We were in Boston during the Oneonta picnic, after which we spent 3 nights on Southport Island next to Boothbay Harbor, then made a beeline back to NJ.  With the obligatory stops we made the 7 1/2 hour drive back in the 9-3SS in only 10 hours!   Traveling is carefully planned with a 4 year old (my grandson, and my son was also in the back seat).  You have a beautiful state and if my wife has anything to say about it, we'll be back.  We saw lots of modern Saabs, predominantly new gen 9-3 models, with a few 9-5s sprinkled in.  Clearly, in-staters driving other than Saabs were still grieving and the SUVs were predominantly from points south.  For those visiting the Boothbay region, the Boothbay Railway Museum (which we visited, hoping to see Thomas the Tank Engine) also sports a 50 car auto museum with 49 American cars dating from 1902 through 1962, plus a 1957 Lotus XI factory racer.  Great trains, great cars.

Thor,

If you get to Brunswick after a trip to LL Bean's in Freeport look me up. I sell at Goodwin Chevrolet in Brunswick, on RT 1. I'll bring the 96 to work if you give me the heads up.
