Re: AI-GEOSTATS: rescaling coordinates

Your data is going to be highly anisotropic anyway, so rescaling the vertical dimension will just change your anisotropy ratio. It will certainly not distort your analysis unless you assume all directions are equivalent.

Hello everybody,I am a beginner in spatial analyst and trying to make 3D model of a moisture content in an area 800x900 meter wide but only 30 m thick. To me the depth is more important so I decided to crop an area from the data but the data is so wide spread that I just cannot crop an area to make it match with my depth. Is it possible to rescale the depth for variogram calculations? I have read that you can multiply the depth to get rid of the problem but I couldn't understand how this wouldn't distord the data? Is there any other method I can do or is this really work?I appreciate alot if you can help me.Thanks
