Minutes of ILUG-D meeting on Sun., 10/12

Hello,
The meeting was held at BB 3/G. DDA Flats, Munirka, from 5pm onwards.
Present were Kamal Dave, Kishore Bhargava, Andrew Lynn, Raj Mathur,
Gora Mohanty, and Tirveni Yadav. Here are the minutes of the discussions
at the meeting:
1. Linux-Asia 2007: Please refer to Raj's earlier message for details
about ILUG-D's participation in Linux-Asia 2007. The tasks that we
have to take care of now, are:
   (a) Prepare guidelines for papers for the technical sessions. These
will be based on those at linux.conf.au, and foss.in (apparently
also derived from the .au site).
   (b) Prepare list of speakers to invite (one was already circulated
earlier), and send out invitations. Time is of the essence, here.
   (c) Set up a project, using dotproject to manage ILUG-D involvement.
   (d) Participate in foss-i panel for selection of papers: The final
decision was to send two members, out of a panel 0f 5 active
ILUG-D participants, to each such meeting.
   (e) Send out a call for volunteers, to cover the three days of the
conference. It was estimated that we will need about ten
volunteers: 4 for the registration, 2 to be present in the hall
at all times and keep an eye on the hardware, and about 4 more
for other work. Volunteers will get free admission, lunch, etc.,
but will not be paid. A formal call for volunteers will go out
       soon.
   (f) We will be given the use of a hall on all three days to organise
talks, demos, etc. The current plan is to also allow like-minded
FOSS organisations to set up demos there, rather than the
segregated .org area. At present, the proposed demos include
IndLinux, and FSF-India, but other suggestions are welcome.
2. As there was no response from other ILUG-Delhi participants, the idea
of forming a support organisation through the group has temporarily
been shelved. If anyone has any great ideas on this front, please
feel free to bring it up as an agenda item.
3. A project plan to finish the coding for the BIC workshop has been
made, and it is estimated that it will take about 7 weeks to
complete. This will be publicly available by Wed., 13/12, and the
clock will start running from Sun., 17/12.

Here is a list of action items:
1. List of speakers: Already circulated.
2. Guidelines for acceptability of talks: Raj Mathur, Mon., 11/12.
3. Draft invitation to speakers: Kishore Bhargava, Tue., 12/12.
4. Check which hall will be available to us: Raj Mathur, Mon., 12/12.
5. Call for volunteers: Raj Mathur, Wed., 13/12.

Regards,
Gora
